'A New Form of Beauty' (1981) by Virgin Prunes includes the titles of the first 4 parts of what was a 5-part project. Part 1 was a 45 RPM, part 2 a 10" record, and part 3 a 12" record, recorded between July and October 81. The 4th part, "Din Glorious", released as an audio cassette, was a live recording from November 8, 1981 at the Douglas Hyde Gallery in Dublin. The 5th part was to be a film of the "performance, exhibition, event" held at the Douglas Hyde Gallery on November 7 and 8, 1981. This deluxe edition includes all four parts remastered.Deluxe edition available on 3LP or 2CD.Virgin Prunes were masters of the strange, juxtaposing nightmares with lullabies, beauty with cruelty, combining soft voice and speech with anguished lamentations from purgatory itself. This first album powerfully charted this territory.
