Cavaglia

Description

Violeta Vicci rides a motorcycle, speaks seven languages fluently, and feels at home in England, Switzerland and Spain. A multifaceted violinist, singer and contemporary composer, she feels at ease crossing genres, from classical to ambient electronic. Her influences range from Bach to Brian Eno. Her music has been played on BBC Radio 3 (Hannah Peel), Radio 4 Woman's Hour, BBC6 (Iggy Pop), KEXP and Resonance FM. Since she began the violin at the age of four and made her concert debut at fifteen, she has fulfilled her lifelong dream of studying at the Royal Academy of Music. Violeta has recently collaborated with Thom Yorke, Elbow, Jonsi (Sigur Ros), Steeleye Span and Ellie Goulding. She also arranges strings for Fontaines DC and writes and performs with the psychedelic rock band TTRRUUCES. "We didn't have a television growing up, so spending time in nature, building sandcastles, reading, playing music and listening to fairy tales played a big role in creating my magical inner world." During lockdown, Vicci launched "Live Music in Nature", a series of live-streamed concerts in beautiful natural locations across the UK, combining strings, vocals and effect pedals to create a soundtrack to nature. She was nominated for a 2021 Royal Philharmonic Society Award and has released two studio albums to date.
