Vincent Courtois, cellist and polymorphic composer, has become, in nearly twenty-five years of career, one of the essential artists of the current musical scene. In this new album "L'imprévu," he offers us a sensual and sensitive journey along the paths of intimate desires becoming our own. Listening to this album is sprinkled with moments that are raw and emotional, like so many unheard stories whispered in the hollow of our ear. The soul of Vincent Courtois' cello, beautifully captured by Gérard de Haro, invites us, from the very first seconds, to follow him to this new unknown destination, bordered by hope, along the lines of the unexpected. For more than fifteen years, Gérard and Vincent have recorded numerous projects together (records, theater music, film music). The idea of a solo recording for La Buissonne resonated in their minds, yet it did not materialize. One day, during a session, the project took shape in their realities. Loyal listeners, who know among other things Vincent's improvisational talents, will discover here an album where writing holds a very significant place. This one is punctuated by orchestral pieces, which rhythmically mark the different stages of the journey and create its balance. Between misty landscapes and vibrant nature, generous bowing and intimate pizzicato, an elegant portrait of Vincent Courtois emerges.
