THIRD 80s POP ALBUM FROM THE GROUP VIDEO AGE. After 'Living Alone' (2016) and 'Pop Therapy' (2018), 'Video Age', a band based in New Orleans, returns with a third album titled 'Pleasure Line' for the Winspear label. 'Pleasure Line' combines pop melodies with neon 80s colors and numerous influences (including Janet Jackson, David Bowie and Paul McCartney) to create an optimistic sound that is uniquely their own. While the influences vary from song to song, they are all tinged with this pink nuance. Indeed, whereas the two previous albums dealt with solitude and self-discovery, this third album by 'Video Age' takes on a whole new dimension given that the two writing partners, Ross Farbe and Ray Micarelli, are getting married this year a few weeks apart. However, these songs are not the expression of a one-dimensional love story; it is euphoria with depth, ecstasy with complications. Darkness always lurks somewhere beneath happiness, but in 'Video Age', even melancholy becomes danceable. The duo has been playing together for 10 years after meeting at university.
