Reid says about "Hoodoo Telemetry": "It's like a piece of my perpetually moving mind. It took me a while to start this album because I was thinking about what I wanted to do next, managing my time with all my other projects. I was also in different spaces with these songs: some are new, others are tracks from a long time ago that had been left unfinished. But suddenly, I found the common thread and it was very clear to me: I have to do it now." Hoodoo Telemetry is not a linear work, but an intricate tapestry of genres, collaborators, and material from different periods. Its energy and chaos seem to reflect and challenge what Reid considers the "tumultuous" sociopolitical backdrop it soundtracks.
