Formed in 1989, Velocity Girl was one of the figureheads of 1990s indie-pop, fusing the hooks of Britpop with the fuzzy guitars of shoegaze. They released three albums on Sub Pop between 1993 and 1996, and broke through to the mainstream with a song featured on the soundtrack to the film Clueless.
