Futuro Cercano

Description

This second album by Chilean producer, live performer, and DJ Valesuchi can be seen as a musical experience of time. Based in Rio de Janeiro for a few years, she released Tragicomic LP (2019) on MAMBA rec—label from the pioneering Brazilian party scene Mamba Negra—followed by the self-produced EP Cascada (2024). In these two releases, her sonic imprint is already evident: intense rhythmic and harmonic lines that are liquid, filtered, mathematical, devotional, multilingual, fantastic, and unreal. With Futuro Cercano (Discos Nutabe, 2025), a new stage is revealed: the experiences accumulated within the electronic communities of Latin America find a completed form here. Her quest for a universal yet deeply personal language, capable of conveying emotion and an unprecedented spiritual dimension, achieves a rare coherence and spontaneity in this album. Futuro Cercano far exceeds the realm of electronic music: it is a technological ritual, an immersion into the secrets held by machines, hybrid objects of human and non-human knowledge. Mysterious artifacts that reconnect us to our own strangeness - that "other" lurking beneath the skin - and that open up uncertainty, not as a threat, but as a possibility.
