The album was recorded live with 20 session musicians (including E Street Band saxophonist Jake Clemons) at the famous Hotel2Tango studio in Montreal. More introspective, "Heavy Light" follows "In a Poem Unlimited" (2018), cited among the best albums of the decade by Pitchfork.
