Discwoman co-founder Umfang was born in the Bronx, grew up in Kansas, and has lived in Brooklyn since 2010. She holds a monthly "Technofeminism" residency at Bossa Nova Civic Club focusing on emerging talent and her affection for vinyl. Her recent achievements include a 7-hour set at Hott Mass in Pittsburgh, her first set at Berghain, and sets at De School Amsterdam, Corsica Studios London, Kaiku Helsinki, Brutaz Warsaw, and Video Club in Bogotá. She also closed the first night of Sustain Release Year III. Her polyrhythmic techno productions have been released on videogamemusic, 1080p, Phinery, Allergy Season, and her new album *Symbolic Use Of Light* will be released on Technicolour, a sub-label of Ninja Tune.
