Out of the fog, out of the dust and out of the silence of time, Ty Segall returns at the wheel of a brand new vehicle named Harmonizer, sleek and roaring, with a trail of confetti from the pages of his previous adventures floating in the air behind him. Two years after *First Taste*, Ty goes back to where he feels most comfortable: uncharted territory. These new songs are a new challenge, one of rethinking his production using synths, guitars, and great creativity. *Harmonizer* shines with unprecedented brilliance that delights the ear. In Ty's hands, this sound is also a tool that allows him to cut through dense undergrowth to craft his most polished songs and shape his most striking ideas. The album's production model sets controlled rhythms within thick keyboard textures, with a direct input guitar signal deliberately groaning and humming from left to right. Freedom Band members—Ben Boye, Mikal Cronin, Emmett Kelly, and Charles Moothart—appear throughout the record, but often one at a time, their contributions leaving a distinctive imprint each time. His wife Denée Segall co-wrote and appears on two tracks. Operating in this hermetic environment with a constant eye on precision, feel, and explosive mass, Ty Segall has crafted a formidable record. Co-produced by Cooper Crain (Bitchin Bajas, Cave), *Harmonizer* is the first recording to emerge from Ty Segall's newly finished Harmonizer Studios. Overflowing with transcendent energy, *Harmonizer* is in the vein of classics *Emotional Mugger* and *Sleeper*, revisiting the lonely days and terrible nights of a tortured soul to finally find the light on the other side of doors too long left closed.
