Five years after their debut, TOMORROW X TOGETHER take the time to reflect on their journey so far. From a short piece solely in Morse code reminiscent of the iconic opening of the debut single "CROWN" to a song titled "I'll See You There Tomorrow" and another about connecting with their former selves, Minisode 3: TOMORROW is the most self-referential album of the K-pop quintet to date. Imagined as interludes of mini-albums between the chapters of a larger musical story, TXT's series of "minisodes" began with minisode 1: Blue Hour in 2020, a light pop album of five tracks written during the early phases of the pandemic that tells the story of a teenager struggling to stabilize in a changing world. The story became more intense with Minisode 2: Thursday's Child in 2022, a five-track exploration of the feelings of grief, anger, and denial that can accompany a first breakup.
Minisode 3: TOMORROW is themed around the promises we make to ourselves as we grow up. In the main single "Deja Vu," Yeonjun, Soobin, Beomgyu, Taehyun, and HueningKai sing to their former selves, comforting the versions of themselves who dreamed for the first time of success. Designed as an optimistic progression from TXT's previous release, the 2023 studio album The Name Chapter: FREEFALL, Minisode 3: TOMORROW ultimately speaks of finding courage and comfort in an uncertain world: "There will be no more grief/I'll see you tomorrow."
