Sarah Davachi is a Canadian experimental musician, composer of acoustic and electroacoustic minimalist music, pianist, and organist. Her new album, "Two Sisters," released on her own label, Late Music, is a collection of nine extended compositions for chamber ensemble and solo organ. The expanded instrumentation of this album includes a carillon, a choir, a string quartet, low woodwinds, and a trombone quartet, as well as sine waves and electronic drones. The compositions of Two Sisters are all guided by a certain harmonic language and a series of modal and cadential structures that have deeply occupied Davachi's writing in recent years.
