"Blue Velvet revisited"Label Crammed Disc'Tuxedomoon & Cult With No Name - 'Blue Velvet Revisited'Crammed Discs presents the original soundtrack composed and recorded in 2015 by Tuxedomoon and Cult With No Name for the documentary Blue Velvet Revisited, directed in 1985 by Peter Braatz on the filming of David Lynch's film, and remained unreleased until todayThe film...In 1985, young German filmmaker Peter Braatz was invited by David Lynch to Wilmington, North Carolina, to make a "making of" of his new film. Throughout the filming, Braatz had unlimited access to the set, the actors, the crew, and the director, accumulating hours of filmed rushes, on-the-spot interviews, and more than a thousand photos.Remaining unreleased for three decades, these images have just been edited by Peter Braatz. He has created a feature-length documentary that appears on the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of Blue Velvet. With its exclusive and completely unreleased images, Blue Velvet Revisited offers an intimate and revealing look at the filming of one of the most significant films of the 80s, and on the work of one of the greatest directors in the history of cinema. The music...Eager to illustrate his film with music as captivating as its images, Peter Braatz asked the English electronic pop group Cult With No Name and the legendary pioneers of post-punk chamber music Tuxedomoon to collaborate to compose a soundtrack. The result is striking: a futuristic film noir music, which integrates elements of contemporary classical ('Lumberton'), jazz ('So Fucking Suave'), ambient electronica ('Do It For Van Gogh'), or krautrock ('Jeffrey Nothing'), while remaining always elusive. The album also features John Foxx, one of the godfathers of 80s electronic music, who composed and performed the track 'Lincoln Street', whose 9 minutes of unsettling ambiance serve as the central axis of the album, around which Tuxedomoon and Cult With No Name weave their magical web.The CD booklet contains many unreleased photos of David Lynch, Dennis Hopper, Isabella Rossellini, Kyle Maclachlan, and Laura Dern.
