Description

Turin Brakes is an English band from South London, founded in the late 90s by longtime friends Olly Knights and Gale Paridjanian, joined by Rob Allum and Eddie Myer. They were revealed to the world by Optimist, an LP whose success is both critical and popular.
They are back here for a 7th album imbued with a sound that is uniquely their own, a melancholic indie pop. Intimate and warm, with that acoustic guitar and those vocal harmonies that have become their trademark.
From the very intimate Martini and The Quiet Ones, to the more upbeat pop of 96, the first single from this album, through Save You with its gospel accents, or the pop-folk of Keep Me Around, the album looks in different artistic directions but remains coherent and true to the band's sound.
Recorded with Ali Staton at the helm (Madonna, La Roux), the album leans a bit more towards the vast American landscapes while maintaining the proximity and authenticity of the old streets of South London. It is in this balance that the beauty of Lost Property resides.
