The music of TUNGSTEN's first album has influences from the different backgrounds of each member, including Rainbow and Deep Purple as well as Rammstein and Meshuggah, not to mention the Bee Gees. TUNGSTEN was formed in 2016 by drummer Anders Johansson (ex-HAMMERFALL, ex-YNGWIE J. MALMSTEEN'S RISING FORCE) after his sons Karl and Nick Johansson allowed him to listen to songs they had composed together. With percussion (Anders), guitars (Nick), bass (Karl), and the composition of new songs, TUNGSTEN asked Mike Andersson (CLOUDSCAPE, ex-PLANET ALLIANCE, FULLFORCE) to do the vocals. Mike has a powerful voice and a style perfect for TUNGSTEN's music. The recording of the first track of the TUNGSTEN album "We Will Rise" took place in the summer of 2018. The drums were recorded at Heptagon studios and the guitars and bass at Harmstudios. Vocals and choirs were added later by Mike. "We Will Rise" is produced and mixed by Nick Johansson. The music of the first track of TUNGSTEN's album is influenced by the different origins of the members. Anders Johansson is one of the most qualified and experienced drummers in the metal world, with a background listening to DEEP PURPLE and RAINBOW; he also has strong jazz influences and plays double bass. The musical talent has been entrusted to Karl and Nick, who praise bands like RAMMSTEIN and MESHUGGAH. Being part of later generations, they bring modernity and current trends to the music. Mike enjoys a wide variety of bands, from BEE GEES to MESHUGGAH, and lists many different singing styles that feature melodic and varied singing on "We Will Rise." The lyrics of "We Will Rise" by TUNGSTEN are about past and present chords. Some of them speak of fiction and fantasy and stories of ancient wars, knights, and heroic heroes, while others are more realistic and live their daily lives with drama, passion, and sorrow, in today's world.
