En 2010, Triggerfinger released All This Dancin' Around, reissued in France by Verycords in 2012. The success of this album will be the starting point of a long tour across Europe, which will lead the three Antwerp natives to perform on the biggest stages. In 2012, an unexpected buzz creates an accidental hit: their cover of "I Follow Rivers," by Lykke Li, recorded during an acoustic session for a Dutch radio station, is propelled to the top of the European charts! The album is certified double platinum in the Benelux, while the single sells nearly 1 million copies in Europe, reaching number 1 in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Austria, and number 3 in Germany. The band then conquers a whole new audience, who discovers that behind this Folk title lies a Rock band with a solid live reputation. They love the band even more... The summer of 2012 sees them touring the biggest European festivals Rock Im Park, Rock Am Ring, Solidays, Les Vieilles Charrues, and, as the ultimate honor, they are invited to open for the Rolling Stones in London. They are also invited to the Love Parade of Solidarité Sida in Paris, electrifying the streets of Paris and the large audience present! After a tour of French clubs in the fall, including a sold-out concert at the Nouveau Casino (Paris), they are scheduled to perform at the Festival OÜI FM Bring The Noise at the Divan du Monde (Paris). Triggerfinger closes 2012 with a true crowning at the Music Industry Awards (Victoires de la musique belge) with 4 awards: Best Live Act, Best Alternative, Best Band, Single of the Year. At the end of 2013, Triggerfinger heads to California, arms full of new songs, to record their new album at Sunset Sound Studios in Los Angeles, under the guidance of producer Greg Gordon. The album is ready, titled By Absence Of The Sun, and will be released on April 21 via Verycords. ALBUM It is on April 21 that their fifth studio album Absence Of The Sun will be released. Triggerfinger does not seem to have finished its ascent. "Game" kicks off the new album from the Antwerp natives with a sound comparable to that of a train still in motion. "Perfect Match," the first single from this gem, is already acclaimed by the biggest radio stations. For its part, "By Absence of The Sun," the eponymous track, has marked blues rock tones, embraced by the melodious and sensual voice of Ruben Block. Recorded in California at Sunset Sound Studios during 2013, this new album also holds some surprises such as on "Black Panic" or "Halfway There." Throughout this new work of the trio, your heart will oscillate between Rock, Blues, and Pop. Without a doubt, Triggerfinger adds a stone to the edifice of melodious Rock.
