After unexpectedly announcing their return after four years of absence with a single released in February, the legendary Scottish band Trashcan Sinatras, made up of five members, announces its first album in ten years. Staying true to the philosophy of "less careerist and more adventurous" that has characterized life within Trashcan Sinatras for forty years, the unchanged lineup - Reader, Paul Livingston (guitars), John Douglas (guitars), Stephen Douglas (drums), and Davy Hughes (bass) - has patiently composed eleven new tracks during improvised writing sessions between mountain cabins, late-night poker games, and peaceful daily routines. Before this announcement, the last EP by Trashcan Sinatras, "Lay Of The Land," was released in 2022. Celebrating four decades of career this year, the story of Trashcan Sinatras began in 1986, and the band signed with Go! Discs two years later. Their formation hails from Irvine, on the west coast of Scotland. They brought a breath of fresh air to British guitar music, both observant, literary, and often romantic. Launched in 1990 with their debut album Cake and the flagship single Obscurity Knocks, they then released five more albums, including I've Seen Everything in 1993, featuring the hit Hayfever, and their third album, A Happy Pocket, originally released in 1996 and rediscovered by a new generation in 2023 during its reissue, which allowed the band to re-enter the official album charts in the UK.
