Sugar at the gate

Description

Two years after "Picture You Staring," the Montreal band Tops is already back with an album "Sugar At The Gate": The album was recorded at Glamdale Studio, located in a former brothel turned into a small mansion near Los Angeles. Singer Jane Penny describes their experience on the West Coast: Living in LA was like living in a teenage fantasy; living with your band and practicing in the garage. It was also the first time we had so much space to make music. For me, the experience of living in LA to make music became a challenge to try to create music that is as true as possible, containing vivid emotions, but also to do justice to these compositions with excellent recordings.
