In 2018, Tim Presley collaborated with Cate Le Bon for the second album of Drinks and with Ty Segall for the album Joy, but 2019 marks his reunion with himself! Tim Presley indeed merges with White Fence for a new solo album titled I Have to Feed Larry's Hawk. Tim began writing the songs for this album in the small rural village of Staveley, located in the Lake District in northern England. He spent the winter there, where the landscapes are beautiful and serene, alongside Cate Le Bon. While she was learning to draw and build wooden furniture, he composed on her piano. Back in San Francisco, where he has lived since leaving the temptations of Los Angeles, Tim recorded with the talented Jeremy Harris in a studio in the Dogpatch neighborhood owned by Paul Butler of the English band The Bees. It is Jeremy who plays the piano parts, most of the drums, and records everything. San Francisco native Dylan Hadley plays drums on two tracks, while Welshman H. Hawkline contributes guitar and vocals on the song "Phone." In a dream, Johnny Thunders asked Tim to keep it simple and sincere with this album, and he also wanted to know why dolphins don't have arms. While he continues to carve his path within the California psych scene, this new album is more melancholic and experimental than his previous ones. Illuminated by the opposing lights of punk rock and psychedelia, Tim Presley paints the vulnerability with an unpredictable brushstroke.
