Born in Arizona, TIM DARCY is now based in Montreal, the city where he studied and, above all, met the members of his band Ought in 2012. On Saturday Night, each of the album’s ten tracks is sinuously linked to the next. Darcy’s voice, firm, unmistakable, with a lyrical phrasing, is at the heart of the project. TIM DARCY goes over the top, he shouts and plays the crooner, showing that nothing is left to chance. And yet, his songs have something soft and musical about them. His ironic lyricism floats nimbly above the nasal guitar choruses, terribly catchy, and the few synthetic elements in the music.
