Born in Arizona, TIM DARCY is now based in Montreal, where he studied and, more importantly, met the members of his band Ought in 2012. In *Saturday Night*, each of the album's ten tracks is sinuously connected to the next. Darcy's firm, unmistakable voice, with its lyrical phrasing, is at the heart of the project. TIM DARCY does too much; he shouts and plays the crooner, demonstrating that nothing is left to chance. And yet, his songs have a sweet, musical quality. His ironic lyricism floats nimbly above the nasal, terribly catchy guitar riffs and the music's few synthetic elements.
