This release, previously included in the TG Berlin box set and available for the first time on vinyl, captures Throbbing Gristle’s unforgettable New Year’s Eve performance as part of a special series of concerts held at Berlin’s Volksbühne in 2005 and 2006. The setlist featured a sneak preview of five tracks from their first album in 27 years, Part Two: The Endless Not, which was released several years later. Fans also experienced TG’s first-ever encore in 25/26 years, with iconic tracks like ‘Convincing People,’ ‘Slug Bait,’ and ‘Hamburger Lady’ – what a memorable callback! Additionally, the concert included the track ‘Splitting Sky’ along with other pieces. Formed in 1975, Throbbing Gristle – comprising Chris Carter, Cosey Fanni Tutti, Genesis Breyer P-Orridge (1950-2020), and Peter “Sleazy” Christopherson (1955-2010) – fully realized punk’s unfulfilled promise to explore extreme culture to sabotage control systems.
