On each of their albums, THEODOR BASTARD carefully and skillfully combines many exotic and traditional instruments, and the new opus ‘Volch'ya Yagoda’ is no exception. The album’s particular Nordic atmosphere is created using the Nordic nyckelharpa and jouhikko, a primitive flute made from tree roots. And as always, the main role on the album belongs to Yana Veva's voice, exciting and captivating in its depth.
‘Volch'ya Yagoda’ takes the listener into the cold, twilight realms of taiga swamps and mossy tundra, into unexplored places where the earthly plane and the spiritual world are separated only by a very thin ghostly veil.
