Following the recent reissues of The Who's 'Sell Out', 'My Generation', 'Tommy' and 'Quadrophenia', here at last is 'Who's Next', considered by many fans to be the band's greatest album! Discover this new reissue, available in several formats: jewel case CD, 2CD Digipack, LP, 10CD+Blu-ray Audio box set, and a 4LP box set (remastered 'Who's Next' album and 'Live At The Civic Auditorium, San Francisco - 1971').
The album's creation process was revolutionary for its time. In the early 70s, The Who, and particularly their main songwriter Pete Townshend, faced an immense challenge: How to follow up the international success of 'Tommy'? The answer was an ambitious, futuristic, and prescient project called 'Life House'. 'Life House' predicted a dystopian world that now seems familiar. The themes addressed were pollution, overly powerful corporations, and technology. The two-part project combined a film and a live performance at the Young Vic Theatre in London.
And as Pete Townshend wrote, "Both the fiction and the Live experience were flawed, and neither was properly realised. But wonderful music came out of the project, and the idea has always haunted me, as many elements of the fiction seem to be coming true."
