This compilation of classic Ventures tracks, taken from EPs released in the United States, the United Kingdom, and France between 1960 and 1962, offers a selection of hits, B-sides, and album tracks. Virtually every major American rock guitarist of the last fifty years has cited the Ventures as a major influence — even George Harrison said he preferred them to the Shadows!Upon their induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2008, John Fogerty observed: "Walk, Don't Run" gave birth to an entire movement in rock and roll. Its sound became surf music, and its boldness inspired guitarists around the world."Although the band no longer includes any original members, its current lineup features longtime lead guitarist Bob Spalding, his son Ian on rhythm guitar, and drummer Leon Taylor, son of the late Mel Taylor.
