The Talbot Brothers were among the first Bermudian groups to achieve fame, and were often invited to TV shows in the late 1950s. After the Great War, tourism developed considerably in Bermuda. With Prohibition, middle-class Americans flocked there in droves, looking for alcohol, sun, and parties. These new visitors needed to be entertained, so hotels brought in Caribbean artists and their famous calypso, which local artists quickly adopted. The Talbot Brothers of Bermuda formed in 1942, blending calypso, swing, and popular music. Archie, Austin, Dick, Blackie, Roy, and their cousin Mandy recorded several albums until 1962 but played until the 1980s. This album was first released in 1958.
