After spending ten years working alongside the biggest names in the record industry, the trio Stepkids was formed in 2009. The group quickly caught attention thanks to its unique style of modern psychedelic soul, an astonishing blend of classic jazz, R&B, funk, and 70s pop/rock. Their first album The Stepkids, released in 2011, and their live performances with psychedelic visuals allowed them to tour with Kimbra, Mayer Hawthorne, Grace Potter, Mates of State, and The Horrors. These experiences and this new maturity can be heard on their new album, Troubadour. The album features the single "Sweet Salvation," released in 2012, as well as "The Lottery," available for listening on the Rolling Stone magazine website. The group has also recently launched a series of jazzy covers of pop singers such as Rihanna, Justin Timberlake, and "Get Lucky" by Daft Punk.
