Fifteen years after the first The Spectacle of Light Abductions, Spencer Clark resumes this project with Music for the Paintings of Vedran Kopljar, released in 2026, directly inspired by the works of the Croatian-Belgian painter Vedran Kopljar. The two long compositions that make up the album were recorded and then performed live during the artist's exhibition at the M HKA in Antwerp in 2024, transforming the pictorial landscapes into vast electronic drifts. Keyboards, sampler, effects, and analog treatments create sound spaces in perpetual mutation, while John Also Bennet adds his flute to "Abomination Plateaus," further enriching this immersive architecture. This work extends the universe imagined by Spencer Clark since 2011 while opening a new dialogue between visual arts and experimental music, in line with the explorations championed by Pacific City Discs.
