When Big Crown was still young, The Shacks was one of the first bands the label signed. Their introduction to the world came through a track by El Michels Affair, "Strange Boy," and it didn't take long for things to take off from there. The Shacks were invited to tour the United States and Europe with Chicano Batman and Khruangbin. Their cover of "This Strange Effect" was featured in a global advertising campaign by Apple and was viewed nearly a billion times. Big Crown released their highly anticipated debut album Haze in 2018. However, before the next album was completed, things deteriorated for the band. In 2020, Shannon and Max decided to part ways for good and took different paths to pursue their respective careers, leaving The Shacks behind. During their heyday, when they weren't on the road, they were recording and were very prolific in their output. Many of these songs never saw the light of day. Here, on Big Crown Vaults Vol. 2, the label has gathered some of the best unreleased tracks and some things that have never been pressed on vinyl for fans to enjoy.
