Description

The Selecter was one of the flagship bands of the ska revival of the late 70s. They were among the few bands on the scene to include members of all backgrounds and genders. Singer Pauline Black addressed sexism, racism, and social issues in her songs. Their first record, the A-side of the single "Gangsters" by the Specials, was released during the summer of 1979. The band was then composed only of Neol Davies and John Bradbury (from the Specials), before forming a full band by the end of the year. This new compilation of 30 tracks brings together for the first time all their recordings made for the BBC: radio sessions, concerts, and television appearances. The limited vinyl edition is a standard black triple LP, presented in a rigid case with printed inner sleeves and a 4-page booklet.
