Description

Under the anagram The Rodeo, Dorothée has been crafting a discography in the form of a self-portrait since 2010, which this fourth album Arlequine refines and showcases with the confidence of those who no longer doubt. In nine tracks of baroque, complex, and lively French pop, the singer-songwriter asserts herself as multiple, multi-faceted, both a stage artist and an artist of herself, less a victim of appearances than someone who now plays with them. Supported by a group of loyal and virtuosic musicians, Arlequine combines melancholy and melodic clarity, anger and orchestral density, mourning and pop ideal, in ambivalent songs with powerful choruses that paint the portrait of a "witty battle-hardened woman (...), a made-up warrior woman," resilient, determined, and reborn. The Rodeo has performed on stages around the world (Europe, USA, Canada, Brazil, South Korea, Taiwan) and has been a laureate of Fair and a finalist for Adami Deezer.
