Donaldson cites 90s San Francisco bands like American Music Club and the more obscure Timco as essential to his guitar playing and development as a songwriter, two elements that shine brightly here. The slower tempo ballads of Still Clouds... often culminate imbued with fuzz and showcase the poetic and abstract side of Donaldson's lyricism. There is always an inherent pop sensibility in the work. Previously available only on Bandcamp, this white vinyl version is remastered and adds two unreleased tracks, one featuring Mark Monnone on bass, the Australian pop legend from The Lucksmiths.
