THE PRETTIOTS
THE PRETTIOTS is the latest signing to the Rough Trade label. Hailing from New York, the band consists of Kay Kasparhauser (ukulele and vocals) and LuluPrat (bass). They made a name for themselves with the excellent "Boys (That I Dated In Highschool)" and have been lauded by the transatlantic press (New York Times, Nylon, Noisey, etc.).
"Fun's cool," the band's debut album, offers a slice of life from young New Yorkers, addressing all the concerns of their age. The compositions are often sweet, but with their funny and deceptively naive lyrics, they bring new blood to American pop.
