Founded in London in 2008, The Pheromoans quickly carved out a unique place in the British underground scene by blurring the boundaries between post-punk, experimental folk, spoken word, and sound collages. Wyrd Psearch, released after about fifteen years of musical explorations, takes as its starting point the old magazines dedicated to unexplained phenomena, folklore, and esotericism, which the band subverts with its offbeat humor. Recorded in a collective spirit true to their working method, the album favors spontaneous takes, minimalist arrangements, and shifts in tone rather than conventional structures. The tracks unfold like a series of fake reports, conversations, and musical ramblings, where the absurd and improvisation become the true guiding threads of the record.
