At once forward-looking without denying the past, this collection of unstoppable pop songs, sung alternately by Katrina Mitchell and Stephen McRobbie, leaves no room for doubt: The Pastels are back and their songs will soundtrack our summer! Recorded in Glasgow by John McEntire, Slow Summits brings together The Pastels' core lineup as well as guests such as Annabel Wright (original band member), Norman Blake & Gerard Love, Stefan Schneider and Ronald Lippok (To Rococo Rot), and Japanese band Tenniscoats. As for Craig Armstrong, he wrote the superb string arrangements for the track Kicking Leaves.
