The Owl Service celebrates twenty years of career with a two-CD compilation tracing the evolution of Steven Collins' psychedelic folk project.Formed in 2006 as a solo bedroom project, the group quickly transformed into a collective of singers and musicians, building a prolific catalog largely outside the traditional record label system.This compilation brings together their early self-released tracks and appearances on compilations, as well as excerpts from their studio albums and several recent recordings with singers Dorothy Chappell and Rebecca Leivers.It also includes an exclusive new version of the traditional piece « Brigg Fair ». Throughout the album, The Owl Service navigates between traditional folk, vintage folk-rock, and darker psychedelic folk.
