Formed in 1982 by two former PSYCHIC TV members, John Balance and Peter Christopherson (alias Sleazy also a former TG), COIL is a pioneering group of industrial, experimental, and electronic rock. Their avant-garde and highly diverse music has led to landmark albums such as 'Horse Rotorvator' (1986), 'Love Secret's Domain' (1991), or 'The Ape of Naples' (2005). The death of John Balance on November 13, 2004, marked the end of the group's existence.Brilliantly chaotic and outrageously rhythmic material from 1993-1996, originally conceived as the sequel to "Love's Secret Domain". "The New Backwards" became COIL's last official studio album, composed of new tracks during Peter's lifetime. This 2CD version contains 8 additional tracks of unreleased material from the same sessions. 3LP in a trifold cover, identical to that of "Loves Secret Domain".
