One of our favorite bands we’ve ever seen live - and one of our most worn records - is The Middle East. Our copy of “The Recordings of The Middle East” is damaged, worn, and truly very loved. For those who don’t know the greatness and history of the band, this old article and this 2019 interview (from the time of their first reunion) are a great starting point. The 2019 concert was one of our favorites. For those who were there, or who, like us, cherish damaged copies, the memories and the music will live on for a very long time. A month ago, a friend asked us if we would consider releasing this record. It was previously only available from the band themselves, if you could find the link, or during their second US reunion tour last year, opening for Zach Bryan. Being such fans, we jumped at the chance. It was compiled and pressed by the band at Standard in Canada. It’s a best of but not the best. It’s a beautiful testament to their work and their music, the good times and the bad.
