69 Love Songs - Coffret Collector 6 Vinyles Argent
Description
69 Love Songs is the sixth studio album by the American group The Magnetic Fields, originally released in 1999 by Merge Records. This cult concept album in three volumes consists of 69 love songs, all written by Stephin Merritt, the band's leader. Designed as a musical revue, the album was not intended as an album about love but as an album about love songs themselves, which can ultimately be quite distant from anything related to love. Many different genres are represented on the album, including country, synthpop, free jazz, and melancholic love ballads. While all the songs deal with love in one way or another, the form is often ironic or offbeat, as seen in the track "Yeah! Oh, Yeah!" which tells the story of a husband who murders his wife. The lyrics of 69 Love Songs explore heterosexual, homosexual, and bisexual relationships. The concept album received critical acclaim upon its release. Box set of six 10" silver vinyl records with three double gatefolds and a 24-page booklet.
