The Mad Laboratory of Anti-Matter is the project of Nadia Daou, also known as Nâr, and Paed Conca, both based in Beirut. Nadia Dahou, a multi-instrumentalist, explores music at the crossroads of North African and Middle Eastern traditions and experimental Western electronic music. Paed Conca has been active for over 30 years in contemporary and improvised music scenes as a clarinetist and bassist. He collaborates with numerous musicians and composes for theater, dance, and cinema. "Study Of A Dead End" is their first album recorded in one take, almost in a live setting, allowing for a significant space for improvisation. Raw and industrial, the dark sound universe of this laboratory is an exploration of emptiness and everything that can be found and emanated from it: a sensory, physical, timeless experience. The trance inherent in repetitive music merges here with industrial noise. Intense and hypnotic rhythms, a constant search for nuanced textures, and an unconditional love for raw and total Art.
