The Liminanas is a duo from Perpignan: Marie and Lionel Liminana. With 4 albums under their belt, including the latest, “Malamore” (2016), which sold 10,000 copies in France, the band skillfully blends garage rock, psych, pop, and French New Wave culture. They were first noticed internationally before the French press became fervent supporters of their cause. Jack White invited them to come play in his studio, Peter Hook came to lay down his bass on a track, Andrew Weatherhall likes them a lot, and Anton Newcombe absolutely wanted to work with them: it’s done now: after “Istanbul is Sleepy,” the first track from their meeting with him (vocals & guitar), it was in Berlin, in the Brian Jonestown Massacre leader’s studios, that Lionel Limiñana and Anton Newcombe recorded and produced the entire album “Shadow People” together. A very warm reception: all the rock press and media are rooting for them. Available on CD and in a 180-gram Vinyl Edition (gatefold, including the CD), at a special price.
