The Lemonheads are back with their first studio album of original tracks in nearly 20 years. The album arrives as young artists like MJ Lenderman, Courtney Barnett, and Waxahatchee cover Lemonheads classics and celebrate their legacy. Long in the making and shaped by geographical changes and a trusted team of collaborators, this album is a bold and melodic reaffirmation of one of the most distinctive voices in alternative rock. The album was largely recorded in Brazil, where Evan Dando now resides. The result is an album that is both fresh and familiar, rooted in the characteristics of the Lemonheads' best work, but enriched by years of life experience and a new environment. Produced by Brazilian multi-instrumentalist Apollo Nove, Love Chant brings together old friends and new allies. J Mascis (Dinosaur Jr), Juliana Hatfield, and Tom Morgan join the band, alongside producer Bryce Goggin (Pavement, Antony and the Johnsons), Erin Rae from Nashville, John Strohm from the Blake Babies, and Nick Saloman from the Bevis Frond. Adam Green from the cult New York band The Moldy Peaches also contributed to the writing of the country track "Wild Thing."
