After 25 years, the second classic album by the Get Up Kids, Something to Write Home About, is still recognizable as the same electrifying and fierce album it was at the time of its release, but also transformed by time into one of the most significant records of the band's scene.
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the album, Polyvinyl Records is excited to announce a special deluxe reissue. The album has been meticulously remastered from the original tapes and will be accompanied by a host of bonuses, including rare demo versions of several songs from the album, as well as a series of album excerpts.
Released in September 1999, Something to Write Home About has established itself as an important document of late millennium rock-and-roll, a convergence of power pop, alternative rock, and punk, it provided the parameters for the second wave of emo, centered around the Midwest.
To support the album's release, the band will also perform it in its entirety during a lengthy North American headlining tour later this year.
