The Scottish trio reunites with Tony Hoffer (M83, Depeche Mode), who produced their first album. This album brings back the pleasure, energy, and verve of their beginnings. This new album is the sound of freedom, that of a group at the peak of their craft, from the opening track 'Me And The Devil' to the elegant final track 'Moonshine', the album breathes confidence and fervor. After the release of their previous opus 'We Need Medicine', the trio (Joe, Barry and Mince Fratelli) spent a year touring around the world. At the end of 2014, they exiled themselves to LA with Tony Hoffer (M83, Depeche Mode and Belle & Sebastian; he also produced their first album 'CostelloMusic') to work on their 4th record. With him, they feel liberated. They once again have the feeling of playing solely for pleasure, as they did in the past. And in just 4 weeks, the album was written and recorded. With Hoffer, they say, they explore directions and possibilities they never would have thought of themselves. In 'Eyes Wide, Tongue Tied', we find the energy, pleasure, and verve of their beginnings. One can distinguish the sun and the spirit of Los Angeles (where it was recorded), with some obvious references to 70s California rock, Rockabilly, and Americana. This album finds its roots both in California and Scotland.
