After a self-titled debut album released in 2009, the Bristol quintet made a name for themselves by touring with The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Anika, The Telescopes, Savages, Ulrich Schnauss, and College. "Lights," their new album, was recorded by Michael Savage (who plays in The Fauns). It features Alison Garner, the front-woman, opposing the guitar, which is both consuming and intimate. While the shoegaze found on The Fauns is still present, "Lights" is infused with new instrumental cascades, echoing the atmospheric aspects of The XX, giving the album a cinematic quality. "Allison Garner & Co continue to impress with a work that, in early 2014, will plunge all those who loved to death the bands that laid the foundations of the most elegant noise pop in just a few years: Slowdive, Lush, My Bloody Valentine. A complete success."
