Description

Distractions is a French pop song trio based in Paris, bringing together three friends: Camille, Quentin, and Charles. It all started when Quentin decided to set his brother's poems to music, long texts that he rearranged and sang, and which he adorned with electronic layers. After a first EP 'Pacifique' released in spring 2023, the band presents its debut album 'Siècle'. 'Siècle' is nourished by multiple influences ranging from Aragon to Bon Iver, including Phoenix and Quincy Jones. This album is primarily about travel: the lyrics explore exoticism, love, wandering, and renewal, while the productions draw from Japanese sounds, notably through the use of 1980s and 1990s synthesizers like the Korg M1. For the production of this album, the band enlisted Victor Le Masne – known for his work with Juliette Armanet, Kavinsky, Gaspard Augé, and on the current revival of the cult musical Starmania – for direction and arrangements.
