As always with these anonymous Halloween concept albums (see our releases from Frankie Stein and the Ghouls), speculation runs rampant about who plays on It's Monster Surfing Time; this time, suspicions point to the legendary guitarist of "Games People Play," Joe South, who wrote five of the tracks here and whose first hit was, after all, "The Purple People Eater Meets the Witch Doctor" from 1958.
