First time on vinyl in the United States. The dB's second album from 1981 and a classic of Power Pop is back and newly remastered. Pop Dose noted: "Repercussion is an essential listen. It's necessary. It's pure and beautiful. It's a triumph... listen to it and absorb it." No Ripcord stated, ".. it's the best of The dB's, the tension between the styles of the two writers reaching a nearly psychedelic peak. 9/10." The album was produced by Scott Litt (later a long-time producer for R.E.M.), giving it a fuller, more modern overall sound. The dB's signed with the British label Albion and released Stands for deciBels in 1981 and Repercussion in 1982, which became instant favorites among fans, critics, and college radio programmers lucky enough to hear them. However, the fact that the albums were only available as high-priced, poorly distributed imports prevented the band from reaching a wide audience in the pre-Internet era. The band will be touring in select U.S. cities in the fall of 2024 and winter of 2025 to support the very first American vinyl releases of their debut and Repercussion.
