Sounds Like Paulin is a unique project where music, design, and human encounters come together. The Cristal Baschet (also known as the glass organ or Lasry crystal organ) is a modern evolution of the euphone, developed from 1952 by brothers Bernard and François Baschet, in collaboration with pianist Jacques Lasry. Their early experiments, consisting of placing metal structures on a piano, were designed as "multi-timbre percussion." These research efforts later gave birth to a unique instrument: glass rods played with wet fingers, whose vibrations are amplified by metal structures, producing a pure and ethereal sound. At the crossroads of music and sculpture, the Cristal Baschet is now recognized as a work of contemporary sound sculpture, present in museums and art collections.
