The psychedelic jazz trio of London saxophonist Shabaka Hutchings returns with their second album on Impulse! Records titled Hyper-Dimensional Expansion Beam. Shabaka Hutchings needs no introduction, being a prominent figure in the thriving London experimental jazz scene. When he’s not performing with his group Shabaka and The Ancestors or his quartet Sons of Kemet, the thirty-something saxophonist and clarinetist enjoys venturing into the realms of cosmic jazz with his extraterrestrial trio The Comet is Coming. On this new release, King Shabaka, Danalogue, and Betamax create a musical universe that is as cerebral as it is physically captivating. While containing elements of jazz, this version leans more towards dance-hall themes, offering hypnotic electronic soundscapes to dance to. CODE is the first single from the album set to be released on September 23, 2022.
