Monolith of Phobos

Description

Two worlds have collided - and what worlds they are! Les Claypool and Sean Lennon have decided to combine their formidable talents to create The Claypool Lennon Delirium, whose first release on ATO Records is an album titled Monolith Of Phobos. This 10-track collection, where the extraterrestrial Claypool and Lennon share vocals and instruments beyond their usual roles – guitar for Sean and bass for Les – promises to take listeners on a psychedelic and stimulating journey through the cosmos. Previously released tracks, such as 'Mr Wright' and 'Cricket And The Genie (Movement I, The Delirium),' showcase an exciting old-school approach to psychedelic space rock. The album also reveals what a brilliant guitarist (and multi-instrumentalist) Sean Lennon is, combining a sensibility similar to his father's with a unique musical approach akin to his mother's. Claypool, for his part, brings his incomparable bass playing and a strong influence from Primus's (of which he is the bassist and singer) most progressive periods. For their upcoming tour, The Claypool Lennon Delirium will be augmented by Mark 'Money Mark' Ramos Nishita (Beastie Boys) on keyboards and Paul Baldi (The Fungi Band) on drums, completing the lineup.
